An adventure park in Wales jumps on the Boris Johnson bandwagon and boffins have figured out the science behind making the perfect sandcastle. It’s this week’s travel news!

For anyone else, it would have been political suicide, but for the Mayor of London Boris Johnson, hanging helplessly from a zip wire proved to be an unqualified, if unexpected, success. So much so that an adventure park in Wales has decided to cash in on the marketing potential of Mr Johnson by offering free zip wire rides to all visitors called Boris. No called Boris? Fear not, as you can also have a free go if you turn up in a blonde wig instead! The offer is available at the Tree Top Adventure in Snowdonia if you are at a loose end this weekend. Want to see Boris dangling from a zip wire? Of course you do…

Did you spend hour after hour as a youngster trying to perfect the art of sandcastle building to no avail? The reason behind your constant failure could be due to the amount of water in your sand. Boffins have found out that in order to get the perfect sand it should only contain 1 per cent water. How you are meant to actually find this out remains a mystery put if you get the right sand, you can according to the science people build structures up to 20 feet tall.

Tune in next weekend for more totally irrelevant travel news!
