Weekly Travel News

Would you be more inclined to holiday in the UK if you were refunded £10 every day it rained? It is now a possibility – as is visiting some of the world wonders from your mobile phone… it is this week’s weekly travel news!

Bournemouth is the jewel in our country’s seaside crown. And this status could increase even further if the whole of the tourist industry follows the lead of one hotelier. Due to a drop in booking, Sarah Uzzell, owner of the Arlington Hotel, is to pay guests £10 each day as compensation every day it rains. Depending on how much it costs you per night and the amount of rain we usually have in this country, you could actually end up making money when on holiday!

If you do not fancy leaving the comfort of your own home (or if it is raining) but you still want to explore the world and all its sights, The Google World Wonder is the app for you. It is basically the same as its Street View feature; however this version allows you to walk around some of the world’s most famous landmarks, enter buildings ad visit places behind closed doors. As well as this, each of the locations also includes a brief explanation of its historical or cultural significance. Will this spell the end of actual holidays and trips? We think not.
