This week, the building of a Chinese village in Wales has been vetoed and the advice from currency experts is to buy your holiday Euros now – it is Beat the Brochure’s look at the weekly travel news of course!
If there is one thing Wales needs it is a village build to cater for Chinese visitors, but unfortunately the controversial designs have been blocked by the local authorities for being too bland. The village, which would have cost upwards of £50 million, was earmarked for a site near Llandeilo, Carmarthenshire in the hope of attracting some of the 100,000 Chinese who visit the UK every year. The designs have come in for much criticism and it will be interesting to see if alternative plans are put forward in the future.
If you are thinking of heading to Europe in the near or distant future, you could do worse then buying your Euros now while the conversion rates are favourable for UK citizens. The pound is 7 per cent stronger against the euro than this time last year, according to ChangeGroup, so get spending and pick up for summer holiday Euros now rather then waiting until you leave. With the markets being especially turbulent at the moment, conversions could go up and down at an alarming rate – so strike now while the going is good!
