top-5-summer-2012-holidays

No it is not too early to be thinking about holidays for summer 2012. In fact, there is even more of a reason to plan right now. The Olympics will descend upon us next summer and with all those people visiting, no television programmes available other than sports and traffic mayhem, a week or two away in a relaxing warm climate is exactly what you need to thinking about right now! Remember, there is no guarantee of good weather in the UK next summer and with London 2012 placing us on a worldwide platform for all to see you can pretty much guarantee it will rain for weeks! So start thinking about where to go on your Summer 2012 holiday with our Top 5 destinations for Summer 2012.

1. – Turkey

In July this year Turkey saw a 5.4% increase in visitors on 2010 hinting that Turkey is an increasingly popular option for summer holidays. The combination of great climate, historical/cultural/hedonistic mix and not being part of the Euro has made Turkey a top destination for a cheap holiday.

2. – Costa Del Sol

4.35% more Brits visited the Costa del Sol this June over June 2010. Although other destinations in Eastern Europe are becoming more and more popular, the Costa del Sol still maintains that cult following. Combining everything visitors want from a resort, the nightlife is buzzing, the weather is almost guaranteed and your home comforts are never far away. It’s a little bit like visiting an old friend year after year and we don’t think this will change come summer 2012. With incredible deals on cheap holidays to Benidorm and Salou already going for under £300, the Costa del Sol will be the ultimate cheap summer 2012 holiday.

3. – Bulgaria

Bulgaria saw a huge increase of 14% in visitors this year with the Black Sea and the warm climate a real draw for people. A relatively new destination for all-inclusive holidays, but a great place to enjoy warm weather, activities and an upcoming vibrant nightlife, we predict Bulgaria will use the success of this summer to make the most of summer 2012.

4. – Ibiza

We feel like we could almost guarantee Ibiza has a top destination for summer 2012. This June and July saw an increase in visitors over prior year and the Ibiza opening and closing parties 2012 is already a highly searched term online. With many a celebrity choosing to holiday in Ibiza this summer, the island has become an top all round destination suitable for families, couples, clubbers and those wanting just to relax.

5. – Egypt

It’s the rise of the Egyptian empire all over again. Although political turmoil has caused questions as to the safety of tourists in Egypt, the all inclusive holidays available at resorts along the red sea have steadily increased in popularity and this looks set to continue over the next year. With warm weather all year round Egypt has an advantage of other Meditarranean destinations, and the new multi-centre Nile Cruise and Stay holidays are set to be popular in summer 2012 when holidays tend to be a little cheaper as the weather gets pretty heated throughout July and August.

Big thank you to VisitBulgaria, VisitCostadelsol, Go To Turkey and Balearics Tourism for figures.
