Putting their past troubles behind them, Cambodia is a wonderful emerging destination. Surprised by the number one destination for 2012? Yes, we were too. Maybe people are opting for shorter city breaks this year but Rome was the most popular choice for 2012. With the colosseum, the Vatican, Spanish Steps, St Peters Square and impressive architecture throughout the city it is no wonder Rome is a top choice. Throw in the Italian culture and, most importantly, the Italian food and wine and Rome really does deserve its number one spot.
