At the start of the year we asked all of our subscribers, fans and followers what their ultimate destination was for 2012. Perhaps it was a destination they were finally traveling to or a familiar favourite for a hard-earned fortnight in the summer. So here are the results, the Top 10 Destinations for 2012.

4. Tunisia

2011 was not Tunisia’s year but 2012 potentially could be with the issues of last year being put behind in order to make way for some excellent holiday deals in order to increase visitors to the once extremely popular holiday destination. 2. Cambodia

Putting their past troubles behind them, Cambodia is a wonderful emerging destination. Cambodia has plenty to explore and the Khmer culture, cuisine and history lies firmly at the heart of the countries tourist activities. The iconic Angkor Wat, Siem Reaps eclectic markets, the idyllic coastal beach resorts at Sihanoukville and Phnom Penh’s artistic vibe make Cambodia an incredible destination to discover in 2012.

1. Rome

Surprised by the number one destination for 2012? Yes, we were too. Maybe people are opting for shorter city breaks this year but Rome was the most popular choice for 2012. With the colosseum, the Vatican, Spanish Steps, St Peters Square and impressive architecture throughout the city it is no wonder Rome is a top choice. Throw in the Italian culture and, most importantly, the Italian food and wine and Rome really does deserve its number one spot.
