Hawaii – The Dream Holiday Destination

Hello from Hawaii!

Hawaii is one of the top holiday destinations in the world, offering many of the things that holidaymakers want from their perfect holiday. Each of Hawaii’s seven largest islands (Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lānai, Kaho’olawe, Maui and Hawaii) has something different to offer, luckily it is easy to travel between them if you want to sample a little of each on your Hawaii holiday.

You will find many of the world’s top beaches in Hawaii and with almost year round sunshine you will have plenty of opportunities to make good use of them. Across the various islands, you’ll find fine white sand beaches, alien looking green sand beaches and red and black volcanic sand beaches, giving you plenty of choice when you decide where to pitch your parasol and sun lounger. The ocean water is clean, clear and warm all year round and is a delight to swim and play in for children and adults alike.

Sticking by the seaside, Hawaii is chockfull of water activities to take part in. Hawaii is famous for surfing and its position offers some of the best waves in the United States for keen surfers. There are many operators offering snorkelling and SCUBA diving excursions, as well as a number offering speed boat rental and parasailing in the State’s beautiful waters. Head over to Kailua on Oahu where the calm waters have made kayaking hugely popular and a local protected reef allows you to paddle out to the Mokulua Islands.

Explorers will enjoy traversing Hawaii’s varied landscape created by its volcanoes. Hawaii Island is home to the highest mountain the world, Mauna Kea, a dormant volcano on the Big Island of Hawaii which at over 10,000m tall is significantly taller than Mount Everest. Although much of the mountain can’t be seen as the mountain’s base is underwater, a traverse to the top will bring you to one of the world’s best stargazing sites.

The Big Island is also home to the world’s most active volcano – Kilauea – which has been active continuously since 1986. Take a trip to Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and see the Kilauea Caldera where the lava from Kilauea flows into the ocean, solidifies and creates new land every day. This is the only place in the world where you can see the planet growing as you stand there.

Hawaii’s food is spectacular and if you attend a luau on the island you will get to sample it straight from the imu (earth oven). Whether it’s succulent kalua pig, sweet potatoes, pulled pork, lomilomi salmon and other catch of the day fish, there are plenty dishes to delight the senses in Hawaii which makes it a great destination if you’re a foodie. Waikiki is a great place to go to take in some of Hawaii’s food culture.

With world-class hotels, dramatic scenery, tropical rainforests, year round warm, sunny weather and balmy waters, Hawaii is an ideal holiday destination for any type of traveller. Whether you just want to chill out on the beach, take in some extreme sport or just explore, Hawaii is sure to be the holiday of a lifetime.
