Google Googles
Google Googles is a must-have for the traveller who wants to learn about what they are doing. Simply use this program and take a picture with your iPad 2 camera. No matter what it is, Google will try to identify it for you. At the moment, it must be admitted that this app is best used for things like pieces of artwork; however future versions intend to tackle birds and animals.
The World Clock
Have you ever excitedly called home and realized only after the first groggy “Hello?” that it’s the middle of the night at home? Have you ever unknowingly crossed time zones and missed a connection when you were not sure what time it was? Now you can skip out on that kind of hassle by checking out the World Clock app. This iPad app allows you to show the current time in more 200 countries around the world. You can set the app to convert to local time and you can be sure that this app will have the right alarm for you, no matter how many time zones you cross.
Ariadne
Ariadne is another GPS app that allows you to figure out where you are and how you can get where you need to go. However, it has another feature that can make it very handy for the busy traveller. When you enable the VoiceOver feature on your iPad, you can listen to these mapping features as it guides you through the cities. This also has a highly useful “Where Am I?” Feature, which helps you locate where you are in conjunction to the addresses around you.
Weather+
When you are on a plane for hours and hours, it can be difficult to remember that you are going to be flying from one climate to another. The key, of course, is to be prepared, but if you want to make sure that you are not going to walk out into a downpour in your flimsiest summer clothes, consider choosing Weather+. This app shows you the weather in a huge number of world cities, and it also stores the information for you when you are not hooked up to a wireless connection.
If you want to hit the road, you’ll find that one of your best friends is the iPad. An iPad can keep you up to date on the latest information, and you will also discover that it can help you prevent any number of normal travel accidents. Choose your iPad apps carefully and make sure that you find the ones that will help you out of any pinch.
