A Man’s Guide to Valentine’s Day Getaways

romance

There is nothing worse than Valentine’s Day for us men. I for one think that the whole occasion is just a big scheme to catch out the unfortunate majority who, concerned with job security, repaying the mortgage and increased costs of living, sometimes accidently forget to buy the girlfriend or wife a present, which of course leads to days or even weeks of sulking.

But it doesn’t have to be like this. For once, get the first strike in and surprise the other half by booking a ‘romantic getaway’ somewhere she’ll love, and sneakily, you will do too.

Keep this under your hat, but many destinations that can be presented as romantic getaways also double up as perfect places for men to enjoy as well.

Sharm el Sheikh

Imagine what your partner would say if you surprised her with a week’s all inclusive trip to the Red Sea resort of Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt. She would be over the moon, and for good reason. A five star hotel, beautiful weather, first class resort facilities, the opportunity to tuck into some world class food – not a bad choice for budget holidays is it? But it is not just her who will be in their element. All inclusive means just that – everything is already paid for in-resort, including beer. So it would be only right for you to drink the days away wouldn’t it? It would be a waste of money not to…

Paris

Women love romantic gestures, so I am told, and what could be more romantic than carting your partner off to the city of love? Paris is, for some reason, the place every lady would love to be on 14th February and believe it or not is a great place to visit for us men too. Why? Because it is so easy to reach. All it takes is a quick train journey on the Eurostar and you are there. Nothing could be simpler. Plus, because Paris is the city of love and every girls dream destination, the chances are they will know where they want to go, visit and eat, so just go along with it all. It will not be too painful and before you know it you will be back home having earned her eternal love – well for a year at least.

Altinkum

A good way to think about Valentine’s Day getaways is the further afar you take your partner, the more they will appreciate it. Whilst not exactly a science, it sounds like it might be true, so consider cheap holidays abroad to Turkey this Valentine’s Day. But why Turkey? Well, firstly it will be hot there. This will allow her to get a natural tan rather than covering herself in the fake stuff from head to toe every weekend back home. Secondly, it might be far, but it is cheap. All inclusive deals to Turkey are great value for money. And thirdly, it is geared up for men. Pre-paid for beer, swimming pools to bomb in, sea to snorkel around, satellite television which will have Premier League action on all day everyday and kebabs on every menu. It’s basically man heaven. Not bad for a ‘romantic’ getaway destination is it?

Like the idea of actually enjoying Valentine’s Day this year? Booking budget holidays is simple and, hey, you may even you it too!
